Speaking at the Jammu and Kashmir Rozgar Mela on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the youth who are joining the public services to prioritise transparency.

According to the Prime Minister, Jammu and Kashmir is the pride of every Indian, and its people will raise the area to new heights.

The PM expressed his happiness that so many Jammu and Kashmiri youth are stepping forward to contribute to the region's development.

Addressing J-K Rozgar Mela via conferencing, PM Modi said, “Today, job appointment letters are being handed over to 3,000 youths to work in different government departments in Jammu and Kashmir. This decade of the 21st century is the most important decade in the history of Jammu and Kashmir. It is the time to leave the old challenges behind and take full advantage of the new possibilities.”

According to the prime minister, increased connectivity and infrastructure have improved Jammu & Kashmir's tourism industry.

“Jammu and Kashmir is the pride of every Indian. Together we have to take J-K to new heights. I have been told that since 2019 till now almost 30,000 govt posts have been filled in Jammu and Kashmir, out of which almost 20,000 jobs have been given in the last 1-1.5 years,” he said.

He claimed that Jammu and Kashmir is progressing with a new, open system. PM stated that efforts were made to eradicate corruption in the system by the administration led by J-K LG Manoj Sinha.

“The people of Jammu and Kashmir have always emphasized transparency. Whenever I used to meet the people of Jammu and Kashmir earlier, I always felt their pain. This was the pain of corruption in the systems. People of J-K hate corruption. The youth who are joining government services today have to prioritize transparency,” added PM Modi.

The prime minister claimed that throughout the previous eight years, the central government has made several efforts to promote employment opportunities. Over 10 lakh appointment letters will be distributed by the Center in the next months as part of the first phase of the Rozgar Mela program in the nation.

On October 22, Prime Minister Modi used video conferencing to announce the start of the "Rozgar Mela," a recruitment drive for 10 lakh people.

75,000 newly appointed employees received appointment letters at the Rozgar Mela.

This is an important step in fulfilling the Prime Minister's ongoing commitment to provide job opportunities for the youth and to ensure the welfare of citizens, according to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

According to the Prime Minister's directions, "all Ministries and Departments are working to fill existing vacancies against sanctioned posts in Mission Mode." The new hires from all throughout the nation will work for 38 Ministries/Departments of the Indian Government.

“The appointees will join the government at various levels viz Group – A, Group – B (Gazetted), Group – B (Non-Gazetted) and Group – C. The posts on which appointments are being made include Central Armed Force Personnel, Sub Inspector, Constable, LDC, Steno, PA, Income Tax Inspectors, MTS, among others,” the PMO statement said.

Ministries and Departments are carrying out these hirings in a mission-mode, either independently or through recruiting organisations like the Railway Recruitment Board, UPSC, and SSC.

“For expeditious recruitment, selection processes have been simplified and made tech-enabled,” the statement concluded.
