According to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, there has been a 34% decline in militant activity since Jammu and Kashmir's Article 370 was repealed, a 64% decline in security force fatalities, and a 90% decline in civilian fatalities compared to the 37 months prior to and following August 5, 2019, the date on which Article 370 was repealed. He asserted that the repeal of Article 370 marked the start of a new age of peace and development.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and other agencies are being reinforced to bring terrorism to a stop definitively, according to the Union Home Minister, who also noted that the government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against it.

Today at Surajkund, Haryana, Amit Shah delivered the opening remarks of a two-day "Chintan Shivir." The Chintan Shivir is being attended by Chief Ministers of the States, Home Ministers of States, Lieutenant Governors, and Administrators of Union Territories.

He claimed that over the past eight years, the security situation in the North East has greatly improved. Since 2014, for example, there has been a 74% decrease in insurgent events, a 60% decrease in security force losses, and a 90% decrease in civilian casualties.

According to him, AFSPA has been removed from more than 60% of regions as a result of the return of calm in the North East.
