Train crushes woman in Qazigund, declared “dead on the spot”

On Friday morning, the Qazigund area was struck with grief when a 50-year-old woman was crushed to death after coming under a train in the area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said.

The deceased was identified as Fameeda Banoo (50), wife of Bashir Ahmad Khanday. The woman hailed from Wanpora Panzath. the lady was hit by a train while she was trying to cross the railway track at Drinan-Dawlat. 

Fameeda was declared dead on spot. Soon after the accident, her body was taken to an emergency hospital where postmortem and other medico-legal formalities were carried out.
