Two Encounters in Kashmir resulted in the deaths of three militants, one of them was a Jaish-e-Mohammed miltant

According to authorities, one of the three militants killed in two separate gunfights with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama and Baramulla districts on Tuesday was a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant

According to a police spokeswoman, security personnel conducted a cordon-and-search operation in Tulibal hamlet in Baramulla's Sopore district after receiving information about the presence of militants there.


After the militants opened fire on the security personnel, who returned, he said the search operation degenerated into an encounter.


He said that two unnamed militants were killed in the fight, which was still going on when the last reports came in.


Another encounter took out in Tujjan in south Kashmir's Pulwama, killing two terrorists, according to the spokesperson.


One of the killed militant has been identified as Majid Nazir of Jaish-e-Mohammad, according to Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar.


He said Nazir was implicated in the recent murder of Sub-Inspector Farooq Ahmad Mir.
