The bags were found by some locals who were walking in the area. They alerted the police, who cordoned off the area and called in the bomb disposal squad.

The bomb disposal squad inspected the bags and found that they did not contain any explosives. The bags were later taken away by the police for further investigation.

The bomb scare caused panic in the area and people were evacuated from the area. The road leading to the PWD colony was also closed for traffic.

The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.

This is not the first time that such an incident has happened in Mendhar. In February this year, two unclaimed bags were found in the town, which also led to a bomb scare.

The police have appealed to the people to be vigilant and to report any suspicious objects to the police.

The bomb scare in Mendhar is a reminder of the threat of terrorism in the region. The people of Mendhar and other parts of Jammu and Kashmir have to live with the constant fear of terrorist attacks.

The security forces are doing their best to keep the people safe, but the people also have to play their part by being vigilant and reporting any suspicious activity to the police.

Here are some tips for staying safe in a bomb scare:

If you see a suspicious object, do not touch it. Instead, report it to the authorities immediately.

Evacuate the area if instructed to do so by the authorities.

Do not panic. Stay calm and follow the instructions of the authorities.

By following these tips, you can help to keep yourself and others safe in the event of a bomb scare.

In addition to the above, here are some other things that can be done to prevent bomb scares:

Increase security measures at sensitive locations. This could include installing metal detectors, security cameras, and armed guards.

Educate the public about the dangers of terrorism and how to spot suspicious activity. This could be done through school programs, community events, and public service announcements.

Work to resolve the underlying causes of terrorism, such as poverty, inequality, and political instability. This will require a multi-pronged approach that includes economic development, social justice, and peacebuilding efforts.

By taking these steps, we can help to create a safer environment for everyone.
