80 percent of Delhi is illegal," the AAP said of the BJP's demolition campaign

Mr Kejriwal told Aam Aadmi Party MLAs in a meeting over the topic that they should be prepared to go to jail if they oppose the BJP-led municipal corporation's anti encroachment  drive in several districts of Delhi. 

"They come in with bulldozers and raze every shop and residence in the colonies."  

"They don't verify papers even if peopleshow them to prove that the construction isn't illegal," he claimed. 

"Delhi was not built in a planned manner.  

More than 80% of Delhi is considered unlawful and encroached upon.  

Is that to say you're going to destroy 80% of Delhi?"  

In an online briefing, he stated.

He added that the party is opposed to how the anti-encroachment drive is being carried out, noting that approximately 50 lakh people live in unauthorised colonies, ten lakh in 'jhuggis,' and lakhs more have changed balconies or done something that does not comply to original blueprints.

"This means that 63 lakh people's homes and businesses will be demolished.  

"This will be the greatest devastation in independent India," he predicted.

While adding that the Aam Aadmi Party opposes encroachment and wants Delhi to be attractive, he stated that razing the homes and businesses of 63 lakh people will not be accepted.  

"The BJP was in power in MCD for 15 years and stole money."  

On May 18, their term will come to an end.

Allow elections to take place and that party to make the final decision.  

"Everyone knows the AAP will win in MCD," he predicted.

He promised that the AAP would address the issue of encroachment people who live in illegal colonies will be given ownership rights.
