Ahead of International Yoga Day, Indian Embassy organizes yoga session in Washington

India's Ambassador to the United States Taranjit Singh Sandhu also underscored the importance of yoga. He said that yoga is a significant tool for physical and mental wellbeing

Ahead of International Yoga Day, Indian Embassy organized a yoga session in the Washington Monument where a large number of people were seen performing yoga. The participants of the session included people from different fields of life.  


NSF) director Dr. Panchanathan, guest of honor at the event, commenting on the yoga said “yoga is India's greatest gift to the world.” 


The NSF director also said that yoga has transcended all geographical boundaries and has been pivotal in uniting the world. Talking on the occasion he also asserted that science and yoga must be accepted simultaneously to attain a healthy body and mind.


India's Ambassador to the United States Taranjit Singh Sandhu also underscored the importance of yoga. He said that yoga is a significant tool for physical and mental wellbeing.


Singh said that Yoga has played important role in the battle against Covid-19 as it has enhanced physical resilience and strengthened mental health.


Also, five Indian Consulates in the US including New York, Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, and San Francisco, are slated to organize Yoga sessions to observe the International Day of Yoga 2022.
