The Central Bureau of Investigation filed another fresh case against Lok Sabha MP Karti Chidambaram, son of former finance minister P Chidambaram, for allegedly receiving a bribe of Rs 50 Lakhs to facilitate the visa of 250 Chinese nationals.
On Tuesday morning, the CBI initiated multiple search operations at nine locations in multiple cities in the country, including Karti Chidambaram’s residence in Chennai.
The officials said the searches “are being conducted at three locations in Chennai, three in Mumbai, one each in Karnataka, Punjab, and Odisha.”
Reacting to the search operation at his residence, Karti posted a cryptic tweet.“I have lost count; how many times has it been? Must be a record,” he tweeted.
He is already being investigated related to several other cases, including the INX Media case.
