The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has once again set its eye on Congress Lok Sabha MP Karti Chidambaram as the agency started conducting searches at multiple residential and official premises of former Union Minister P Chidambaram's son.

The CBI is reportedly conducting the investigations at around seven premises across Chennai, Mumbai, Odisha, and Delhi linked to Karti Chidambaram, his associate Bhaskaraman and others.

The investigative agency has lodged a fresh case against Karti Chidambaram for allegedly receiving a bribe of Rs 50 lakh to facilitate the visa of 250 Chinese nationals for a power project in Punjab instead of illegal gratification between 2010-14.

After the CBI search, Kartik Chidambaram posted a tweet that indirectly questions the investigative agency.

"I have lost count; how many times has it been? Must be a record," he tweeted.

He is already being investigated related to several other cases, including the INX Media case.
