US officials came up with a report saying that so far not found any mechanical or technical faults with Boeing 737-800 plane which crashed in China killing all 132 passengers aboard.

"The plane did what it was told to do by someone in the cockpit," according to the Wall Street Journal, citing a person familiar with US officials' preliminary assessment of the cause of the crash.

The report also claimed that the data from the ‘black box’ revealed that the controls pushed the plane into a near-vertical dive, the report said. A US official also reported the crash was caused by an intentional act.

A probe into the crash is now trying to unearth whether the crash was due to intentional action on the flight deck as no evidence of technical malfunction was found in the plane.

China Eastern Airlines and the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) did not immediately respond to the allegation.

Last month, the CAAC commented on the ‘intentional crash’ and said the reports suggesting so had "gravely misled the public" and "interfered with accident investigation work".

The Chinese embassy in Washington and the US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) also refused to comment on the report.
