China's Airbus A319’s takeoff was aborted as the plane caught fire in the southwestern city of Chongqing on Thursday. China’s Tibet Airlines said that all the crew and passengers were evacuated from the plane.

The statement released by the airlines says that the incident has caused no death. Only minor injuries were caused among the 113 passengers and nine crew members on board.

Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) informed that 36 people were inflicted with bruises and sprains during the evacuation from the plane.

The aircraft that caught fire was a 9-year-old A319. The plane was powered by CFM56 engines from CFM International, a joint venture between General Electric and Safran.

On March 21, China witnessed another ill-fated incident when China Eastern Airlines Boeing 737-800 with 132 people on board crashed in mountains in southern China, killing everyone on board.
