Over the multiple encroachment drives carried out by BJP-ruled civic bodies since April 1, the Delhi government has sought a detailed report from the civic bodies.

The encroachment drives sparked unrest in Delhi and received severe backlash in return. These Bulldozer actions were executed in several parts of the national capital.

The drives carried by the BJP-run civic authorities were also panned by several political parties and triggered horn locking between AAP and BJP.

Earlier Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, reacting to the encroachment drive said, "Delhi has been ruled by the Municipal Corporation for 15 years. What have they done in 15 years? BJP got illegal buildings constructed during their tenure, they took the money and allowed illegal constructions. Now that their term is going to be completed on May 18. Do they have the moral power, do they have the constitutional power to take action to run such a bulldozer?."
