Former PM Imran Khan disappointed over low-level public participation in Azadi March

According to the PTI leaders, the Azadi march witnessed lukewarm support because Imran Khan didn’t give the leaders enough time to prepare for the march and coordinate transportation and logistics

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was reportedly disappointed with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders' as they failed to bring in enough demonstrators during the Azadi March in Islamabad.

The Ex-PM was expecting a colossal number of people would participate in the long march on their own, the way they did when he was ousted as the prime minister a no-confidence resolution.

According to the PTI leaders, the Azadi march witnessed lukewarm support because Imran Khan didn’t give the leaders enough time to prepare for the march and coordinate transportation and logistics. They had requested the former PM to give them more time but he refused to do so.

The reason behind Imran Khan’s outrage is believed to be based on the fact that, even though the PTI possesses 83 National Assembly seats and 158 provincial assembly seats in Punjab, supporters turned out in Lahore only and that too in small numbers.

The Ex-PM was continuously being persuaded that arriving in Islamabad without proper planning was not a good idea, but Khan didn’t pay any heed, believing the Shehbaz Sharif government would try to put an end to the march.
