RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s bail plea in the fodder scam case will likely be heard today by the Jharkhand High Court, Friday, April 22.

The court will take up the bail plea hearing of Lalu Prasad in relation to the fraudulent withdrawal case of Rs 139.35 crore from the Doranda treasury.

Lalu Prasad, a septuagenarian in his petition, sought bail mentioning his ill health, and age. He also cited that he has already served half the sentence in jail.

In the previous hearing, the Jharkhand High Court had ordered to correct the error in the petition. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was also directed to submit a reply.

On April 1, the hearing on the bail plea was postponed due non-availability of the judge.

The former chief minister was convicted in February by CBI court in Ranchi in the fodder scam. It is said to be the country’s biggest scam in which Lalu Prasad was convicted in the fraudulent withdrawal case of Rs 139.35 crore from the Doranda treasury.
