Mrs Sonia Gandhi will join a joint rally for the assembly election campaign of Karnataka with Rahul and Priyanka at Hubli district. After a gap of 4 long years, Mrs Gandhi will be seen in the election campaign,i.e, after 2019 Loksabha polls. Last time she adressed the media was on Aprill 11, 2019 as she filed her nomination from her constituency Raebareli.

The party decided not to leave any stone unturned to hold their position in the state as well as ' Hubli ' which is also known as ' Hinduvta Laboratory '.

So far, Congress has unleashed an aggressive campaign by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul and General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi by organising 43 public rallies, 13 road shows, six interactions with women and youth as well as five meetings with workers.

The state of Karnataka has always come into the rescue of Congress party be it Indira Gandhi's roaring return to Parliament from Chikmagalur in 1978 or Sushma Swaraj's defeat by Sonia Gandhi in from Bellary in 1999. At this time when Rahul Gandhi's humiliating disqualification from Parliament and defeat in the state; all eyes are on assembly election of Karnataka.

Congress is now choosing the Lingayat issue against BJP by showing the experiences of leaders like Jagdish Shettar and Laxman Savadi, who joined the party to fight the May 10 Assembly elections.

If Congress party manages to win power in the state of Karnataka , then it would be an advantage for them to fight in 2024 Loksabha polls against BJP, i.e they will be in a comfortable spot to bargain harder with the opposition for seat allocation.
