Pak PM Directs Officials To Prepare Emergency Plan Amid Power Crisis

Load shedding has caused problems for individuals, notably in the business community, in several sections of the country.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Sharif wasupdated on the challenges in providing energy to home and commercial consumers during a 5-hour meeting.  

Marriyum Aurangzeb, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, stated. 

Mr Sharif has tasked a group of ministers from the ministries of energy, petroleum, and finance with presenting a concrete strategy as soon as possible.  

He also promised that the plan to gradually eliminate load-shedding will be implemented effectively, according to the state-run APP news agency.

According to the Dawn daily, the conference, which was attended by federal ministers and high-level officials, discussed the hours-long load shedding that has left civilians suffering from soaring high temperatures in various parts of the country. 

The meeting discussed the loadshedding situation and discussed ways to minimise the country's electrical shortage.

The proposal, according to the prime minister, should result in a perceptible reduction in electrical load-shedding for Pakistanis. 

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif proposed using the "365 days of sunshine" to operate markets during the day rather than the traditional "opening marketplaces at 1 pm and closing them at 1 am." 

According to the minister, roughly 3,500MW of electricity can be saved if markets set the correct business hours, excluding Karachi, and the government must make "difficult decisions" to address the 7,000MW gap. 

This occurred as officials sought waysto preserve energy in the midst of the country's serious energy crisis.

The issue of load shedding has had a widespread impact on the debt-ridden country's economy.
