PM Modi inaugurates Rs 920 crores worth of Pragati Maidan Corridor project

Informing about the project, the government in a statement said, “The main tunnel of the corridor connects Ring Road with India Gate via Purana Qila Road, passing through Pragati Maidan. The six-lane divided Tunnel has multiple purposes, including access to the huge basement parking of Pragati Maidan.”

Prime minister Narendra Modi today June 19 inaugurated a tunnel and five underpasses of the Pragati Maidan Integrated Transit Corridor project in New Delhi. Built at a cost of more than Rs 920 crores, the project is expected to provide smooth movement and access to the convention and exhibition center at Pragati Maidan.


The Pragati Maidan tunnel, stretching 1.6 km, will also smoothen the movement of the traffic to India Gate and areas of central and eastern Delhi. 


Informing about the project, the government in a statement said, “The main tunnel of the corridor connects Ring Road with India Gate via Purana Qila Road, passing through Pragati Maidan. The six-lane divided Tunnel has multiple purposes, including access to the huge basement parking of Pragati Maidan.” 


According to the government, the project is going to be very beneficial. Pragati Maidan and other connected areas, because of their famous monuments attract a colossal number of tourists and the tunnel will save a lot of time for the travelers.
