PM Modi meets Iran’s foreign minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, holds “useful discussion on development”

While meeting Hossein, PM Modi highlighted the rich and strong link between Iran and India. The meeting incorporated the discussion on bilateral cooperation initiatives

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday met Hossein Amirabdollahian, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who is on an official visit to India. the Iran foreign minister’s visit aims to strengthen the bilateral ties between the two countries.


"Was happy to receive Hossein Amir-Abdollahian for a useful discussion on the further development of centuries-old civilizational links between India and Iran." The PM tweeted after meeting Iran’s foreign minister.


While meeting Hossein, PM Modi highlighted the rich and strong link between Iran and India. The meeting incorporated the discussion on bilateral cooperation initiatives.  The Prime Minister also underlined that both countries should go hand in hand towards progress in the post-COVID era.  


PM Modi also told the Iran Foreign Minister to pass on his greetings to Iran’s president Ebrahim Raisi. The prime minister said that he is looking forward to meeting the President of Iran at an early date.
