Prisoner number 241383: Navjot Singh Sidhu sent to barrack 7 of Patiala Central Jail

As per the sources, during Sidhu’s stay in Patiala Central jail, he will be given a table, a chair, two turbans, a cupboard, a blanket, three sets of underwear, two towels, a mosquito net, a pen, a notebook, a pair of shoes, two bed-sheets, four pairs of kurta-pajamas and two pillow covers

Cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu, after surrendering before Patiala court on Friday, has been lodged in Patiala Central Jail.



Before placing him behind the bars, Sidhu was taken to Mata Kaushalya Hospital in Patiala for medical examination after he complained of chest pain earlier in the day.



On Thursday, The Apex court sentenced him to one-year imprisonment in connection with a 1988 road rage case.



As per the sources, during Sidhu’s stay in Patiala Central jail, he will be given a table, a chair, two turbans, a cupboard, a blanket, three sets of underwear, two towels, a mosquito net, a pen, a notebook, a pair of shoes, two bed-sheets, four pairs of kurta-pajamas and two pillow covers.



The former Punjab Congress chief is labeled with prisoner number 241383 and is assigned to barrack number 7.



In March 2018, Sidhu was let off with just a fine of Rs 1,000, but now Sidhu has been punished under Section 323 of the IPC and sent to prison for a year.



Ahead of the Punjab elections earlier this year, Sidhu’s wife Navjot Kaur Sidhu had said that the case was being pursued at the behest of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikramjit Majithia.
