Emotional breakdown in Thane's party office as Pawar decides to step up from the post of Party Supremo
An uproar of protest and despondency ran into Thane's party office when Sharad Pawar decided to step down from NCP chief's position. The sentimental party workers and leaders adjured four times Maharashtra chief minister to revoke his decision or else they will not leave the site.
Pawar announced his retirement from the post of party supremo during the launch of revised version of his autobiography in Mumbai. This news is likely to make a far reaching impact on political scenario of Maharashtra before Loksabha election 2024.
After the insistence of party workers , Ajit Pawar , Sharad Pawar's nephew told that though Mr Pawar has made his decision of resigning still on the soulful demand of party cadres he will look upon on his decision once again.
Sharad Pawar told " I am retiring as a party chief, but I will always be with you. I only have 3 years left as Rajya Sabha member , in this time, I have to focus on the issues of Maharashtra and India. After a long period of party life, it was necessary to step back and give way to the new faces."
