Photojournalist Danish Siddiqui, who lost his life in Afghanistan, is among four Indians honored with the prestigious Pulitzer Prize 2022 in the photography category.

It was announced on Monday that Danish and his colleagues Adnan Abidi, Sanna Irshad Mattoo, and Amit Dave have bagged the award. According to the Pultizer Prize website, the award was given for “images of Covid’s toll in India that balanced intimacy and devastation, while offering viewers a heightened sense of place”.
