Tamil Nadu: CM Stalin takes bus ride, declares sops as his executive completes 1 year

MK, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, today travelled aboard a state-run Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) bus and interacted with passengers sooner than making certain public welfare announcements within the state Assembly to commemorate his administration’s first anniversary.

He approached the female passengers on bus number 29-C in Chennai’s Radhakrishnan Salai (road) and questioned about the free ride offer for ladies.

Stalin made a number of announcements sooner than the Tamil Nadu Assembly to commemorate the first year anniversary, including providing breakfast for children in government schools and other initiatives aimed at ensuring nutrition. In anticipation of the nation’s Assembly elections in April 2021, the ruling DMK announced a pre-ballot commitment of free bus transportation for girls. Following his administration’s one-year tenure, Stalin paid floral tributes on the Marina in Chennai to late DMK founder CN Annadurai and his father, former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.

Stalin led his party-led alliance to a stunning victory over arch-rival AIADMK in the 2021 Assembly elections, marking his first stint as Prime Minister after a decade in opposition. From 2006 to 2011, he was Deputy Chief Minister in the Karunanidhi-led DMK administration.
