TRS to skip Opposition meeting today

As per the sources, the reason for abstaining from attending the meeting was that the party has already made its stand clear to maintain equidistance from the BJP and Congress

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has decided to evade the meeting convened by West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress president Mamata Banerjee to hold a discussion on the Presidential election in New Delhi slated to take place on Wednesday.


The decision surfaced hours after TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao consulted his senior party leaders till late in the night on Tuesday.


As per the sources, the reason for abstaining from attending the meeting was that the party has already made its stand clear to maintain equidistance from the BJP and Congress. 


Another reason not to attend the meeting was that the TRS had always underscored that it will not share a platform with 


It is pertinent to mention that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had taken several digs at the TRS during his visit to the State without speaking a word against the BJP.
