US Vice Prez Kamala Harris tests Covid-19 positive

“She will follow CDC guidelines and the advice of her physicians. The Vice President will return to the White House when she tests negative," the statement said.

On Tuesday, the white house announced that Vice President Kamala Harris has tested positive for COVID-19. So far, she has shown no symptoms and will stay in isolation at home.

The vice president also took to Twitter to that she has contracted the Covid-19 virus. "Today I tested positive for COVID-19. I have no symptoms, and I will continue to isolate and follow CDC guidelines. I'm grateful to be both vaccinated and boosted," Harris tweeted.

The White House said that the vice prez will work from the vice president’s residence and will return to the White House once she is virus-free.

“She will follow CDC guidelines and the advice of her physicians. The Vice President will return to the White House when she tests negative." The statement said.

Harris after spending last week in California returned to Washington on Monday. She has not come in contact with President Biden or first lady Dr. Jill Biden. 

The statement issued by the White House further added, "She has not been a close contact with the President or First Lady due to their respective recent travel schedules.”

Currently, as per the statement, Harris is taking an antiviral drug, Paxlovid, to ebb the risk of the development of severe symptoms. She has also received both Covid-19 vaccine shots.
