Apollo Hospitals on Friday announced the launch of a dedicated Centre of Excellence for Sports Injuries and Orthopaedics in Hyderabad, aimed at providing specialised treatment and rehabilitation services for athletes and fitness enthusiasts.
The newly inaugurated facility has been set up at Apollo Hospitals’ Financial District campus and is designed to offer comprehensive care for sports-related injuries under one roof. The hospital said the centre combines advanced diagnostics, minimally invasive surgeries, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and sports medicine expertise to help patients recover faster and return to active lifestyles.
According to the hospital management, the centre will focus on treating a wide range of conditions including ligament tears, joint instability, muscle injuries, fractures, tendon disorders, and other complex orthopaedic problems commonly faced by athletes and physically active individuals.
The launch event was attended by KEI Group founder Anil Kamineni and Telangana Special Chief Secretary for Sports Jayesh Ranjan. Officials at the event highlighted the growing need for specialised sports injury care in India as participation in professional sports, fitness activities, and recreational athletics continues to rise rapidly.
Dr. Deepthi Nandan Reddy, head of Orthopaedics at Apollo Hospitals Financial District, said accurate diagnosis and timely treatment are essential to prevent long-term complications in sports injuries. He noted that the new centre is equipped with advanced surgical systems and evidence-based rehabilitation programmes designed to improve recovery outcomes.
Hospital officials also stated that the facility brings together orthopaedic surgeons, sports medicine experts, physiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, and fitness professionals to create personalised recovery plans for patients. The integrated approach is expected to benefit both professional athletes and ordinary patients recovering from injuries.
Players from Sunrisers Hyderabad, including captain Pat Cummins, Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain, reportedly visited the facility and reviewed its treatment infrastructure and rehabilitation programmes.
The launch comes shortly after Apollo Hospitals opened its 76th hospital a 400-bed smart healthcare facility in Hyderabad’s Financial District further strengthening the city’s position as a major healthcare hub in India.
