Streams of the Brahmaputra in Dibrugarh, Assam, rose in level on Monday as a result of waterlogging from the city's persistently heavy rainfall.

Images taken earlier today in Dibrugarh showed that the city was partially under water.

The India Meteorological Department issued a warning earlier on Sunday, stating that more intense rainfall is anticipated in many regions.

A heavy rainstorm is expected to persist in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, and East Rajasthan for the next two days. Tamilnadu and Rayalaseema will have heavy rain for the next five days, and coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will experience it the following day, according to a tweet from IMD.

Due to the severe rainfall warning issued by the meteorological department for Monday in numerous districts of Uttar Pradesh, schools for all pupils up to class 12 remained closed.

There is a high likelihood of isolated thunderstorms and lightning over the state from October 9 to October 12. IMD warned that isolated places in the state may experience heavy rain on October 10.

Waterlogging and flood water that entered people's houses, places of business, and the wards of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, made it difficult for vehicles to pass through. A large amount of waterlogging occurred in several areas of Noida on Sunday as Delhi and the NCR were battered by heavy rain.
