AT LEAST 14 DIED IN BUS ACCIDENT IN MADHYA PRADESH’S REWA, 35 SEVERELY INJURED

In Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, a bus overturned, resulting in at least 14 fatalities and 35 grave injuries. Around 11.30 p.m. on Friday, the collision happened on National Highway 30.

“It seems that the trolley truck had an accident with the truck in front of it and when the driver applied brakes, the bus behind it rammed into it,” Rewa Collector Manoj Pushp told ANI.

A few bystanders reportedly told authorities about the event, and officers from the Sohagi police station hurried to the scene.

Three to four persons, according to the police, were reportedly trapped inside the bus.

Twenty of the 40 injured have been taken into a Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, hospital. Hyderabad to Gorakhpur was the destination of the bus. According to Navneet Bhasin, all passengers aboard the bus are natives of Uttar Pradesh, SP Rewa has stated. They quickly started the rescue efforts and extricated the injured passengers from the wrecked bus. Three to four persons, according to the police, were reportedly trapped inside the bus.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, in a tweet, wrote: "Saddened to learn about a road accident in Rewa, MP in which many lives have been lost. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. May they remain strong in this difficult time. Prayers for speedy recovery of those injured. (sic)".
