BJP Confident of 160+ Seats in Bengal: Sukanta Majumdar
Senior BJP leader Sukanta Majumdar has expressed strong confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party will form the next government in West Bengal by winning more than 160 seats in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Addressing party workers and supporters during an election campaign, Majumdar claimed that there is a strong wave in favour of the BJP across the state. He said that people are eager for change and are dissatisfied with the governance of the ruling All India Trinamool Congress led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Majumdar alleged that issues such as corruption, law and order concerns, and lack of employment opportunities have eroded public trust in the current government. He further stated that central welfare schemes and development initiatives under the BJP-led Union government have gained popularity among voters in Bengal, strengthening the party’s prospects.
Highlighting the party’s electoral strategy, Majumdar said BJP leaders and workers are reaching out to people at the grassroots level, focusing on booth-level organization and direct engagement with voters. He added that the party is determined to ensure a decisive mandate in its favour.
On the other hand, the Trinamool Congress has dismissed such claims, asserting that the BJP is making unrealistic predictions. TMC leaders have maintained that the people of Bengal will once again support Mamata Banerjee for her government’s welfare schemes and development work.
The political battle in West Bengal is intensifying, with both the BJP and TMC projecting confidence ahead of the polls. While BJP leaders like Sukanta Majumdar are aiming for a clear majority, the ruling party is equally determined to retain power, setting the stage for a high-stakes electoral contest in the state.
