BUS PLUNGES INTO RIVER, KILLING 3, INJURING 15 IN JHARKHAND

Bus Accident in Jharkhand Claims 3 Lives, 15 Injured

A bus carrying passengers from Ranchi to Giridih plunged into the Barakar river in Dumri village of Giridih district on Saturday evening, killing three people and injuring 15 others.The bus was reportedly speeding when it lost control and veered off the road, crashing through the railings of a bridge and falling into the river. The impact of the crash caused the bus to break into two.


Rescue teams rushed to the spot and pulled out the passengers from the bus. The injured were taken to a local hospital, where three of them were declared dead. The other 15 injured are undergoing treatment.The cause of the accident is still being investigated. However, police suspect that the driver may have been speeding.


The deceased have been identified as Suresh Oraon (45), Ramesh Mahto (40), and Lakhan Munda (35). The injured are being treated at the Giridih Sadar Hospital.The accident has caused widespread shock and grief in the area. The local administration has announced a compensation of Rs. 50,000 for the kith and kin of the persons who lost their life and Rs. 25,000 for the wounded.


The Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, has expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery. He has also ordered a high-level investigation to enquire about the cause of the accident.


This is the second major bus accident in Jharkhand in the past few months. In May, a bus carrying pilgrims from Deoghar to Ranchi crashed into a truck, killing 13 people and injuring several others.
