Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu will campaign in Tamil Nadu on April 20 and 21 in support of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections, according to official party and media reports.
As part of the two-day tour, Naidu is expected to address public meetings, participate in roadshows, and hold interactions with local leaders and supporters across key constituencies. The campaign is being viewed as part of the NDA’s broader effort to strengthen its presence in Tamil Nadu as election activities intensify across the state.
On April 20, Naidu is scheduled to begin his campaign in Coimbatore, where he will address a major public gathering in the afternoon. He will later travel to Hosur and Thalli for additional rallies, before heading to Chennai in the evening for a roadshow in Avadi. These programmes are aimed at mobilising party cadres and reaching out to urban and semi-urban voters.
On April 21, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister will continue his campaign in southern and western Tamil Nadu, including visits to Madurai and Sattur. He is expected to meet community leaders and participate in election-related outreach events during the second day of his tour.
According to NDA sources, Naidu’s campaign is focused on highlighting themes of governance, development, infrastructure growth, and economic progress. The alliance is also trying to project a development-centric narrative in the state as it competes with strong regional political forces.
Party leaders have described Naidu’s visit as significant, given his experience in governance and his role in strengthening the NDA at the national level. His presence is expected to energise party workers and boost campaign visibility in key constituencies.
The Tamil Nadu Assembly elections are scheduled amid intense political competition, with multiple alliances actively campaigning across the state. Major parties are holding rallies, roadshows, and public meetings in the final phase of campaigning.
Naidu’s visit adds momentum to the NDA’s campaign strategy in Tamil Nadu, where the alliance is seeking to expand its electoral footprint ahead of polling day.
