The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced that its nationwide protest will continue until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns, despite a meeting between Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda and a delegation of student leaders.
The meeting took place following the violent clashes during the "Sansad Chalo" march in New Delhi. J.P. Nadda met the CJP delegation and urged the protesters to end their sit-in, assuring them that the government would consider their demands and discuss them with the leadership.
However, the CJP said no concrete assurance was given on its key demands. The delegation reiterated three primary demands: the immediate release of Sonam Wangchuk, the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, and compensation of ₹1 crore for the families of NEET aspirants who died by suicide.
CJP leaders maintained that the agitation would continue until these demands are fulfilled, particularly the resignation of the Education Minister. While the organisation has decided not to organise another march to Parliament immediately, it has vowed to continue protests at Jantar Mantar and expand the movement across the country.
The talks marked the first formal engagement between the Centre and the student-led movement, but they ended without a breakthrough. As a result, the standoff between the protesters and the government is expected to continue in the coming days.
