CJP’s Abhijeet Dipke Seeks Withdrawal of Cases Against Protesters

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to direct the police to withdraw cases registered against protesters following the recent student-led demonstrations in Delhi.

Dipke has been vocal about the police action during the July 20 protest at Jantar Mantar, where students and supporters had gathered over demands linked to examination reforms and accountability. He has alleged that protesters faced excessive force during the police crackdown and has sought an apology and action against those responsible.

The CJP founder has maintained that the movement was peaceful and has demanded that students should not face criminal proceedings for participating in the demonstrations. His appeal comes amid continuing political and public debate over the handling of the protests and the treatment of demonstrators.

Dipke has also reiterated that the movement would not be intimidated by police action or the possibility of detention. The CJP's protests have emerged as a prominent youth-led campaign, initially centred on alleged irregularities in national examinations and demands for changes in India's education system.

At the same time, a separate controversy has emerged around Dipke's family finances. An RTI activist from Surat has sought an inquiry into the financial background of Bhagwanrao Dipke, Abhijeet Dipke's father, particularly questioning how his children’s education in the United States was financed. The activist has reportedly pointed to Bhagwanrao's stated monthly income of around ₹60,000–₹65,000 and argued that the cost of overseas education warrants scrutiny.

The RTI activist has called for a formal examination of the family's financial records to determine whether there were any undisclosed sources of income or financial irregularities. These are allegations and demands for an inquiry, not established findings of wrongdoing. No conclusion of financial misconduct has been established on the basis of the claims reported so far.

The controversy comes as Dipke and the CJP continue to attract national attention following their student protests. The movement has expanded beyond examination-related demands, with Dipke increasingly raising questions about police conduct, student rights and accountability.

Meanwhile, Dipke has separately demanded that Prime Minister Modi apologise to students injured during the July 20 protest before asking others to apologise for alleged offensive remarks made during demonstrations. The competing demands one seeking protection and withdrawal of cases against protesters and another seeking scrutiny of Dipke's family's finances have added a new layer to the ongoing controversy surrounding the CJP founder and the youth protest movement.
