The Delhi Police Special Cell on April 30, 2023, detained two inter-state firearms vendors, Manish Pandey and Inderjit Singh. The two men were found in possession of 10 pistols and 10 live cartridges.

The police said that the two men were part of an inter-state arms trafficking syndicate that was operating in Delhi, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh. The syndicate was procuring the pistols from a firearms manufacturer and supplier in Sendhwa, Madhya Pradesh. The pistols were then being smuggled into Delhi and Punjab and sold to criminals.

The police said that the two men were arrested after they were intercepted by a police team in the Suraj Kund area of Delhi. The police team recovered 10 pistols and 10 live cartridges from the two men.

The police said that the two men have been booked under the Arms Act. They are being interrogated to find out more about the arms trafficking syndicate and their other associates.

This is the third time in the past few months that the Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested members of an inter-state arms trafficking syndicate. In June 2023, the police arrested Mukund Singh, a Punjab-based arms trafficker, who was operating at the behest of handlers based in the United States and Dubai. Singh was found in possession of 25 sophisticated pistols, two spare magazines, and 50 cartridges.

In July 2023, the police arrested three members of an inter-state arms trafficking syndicate in Haryana. The three men were found in possession of 15 good-quality pistols.

The Delhi Police Special Cell is actively working to curb the illegal arms trade in the city. The police have been able to make significant seizures of illegal firearms in recent months, and they have arrested a number of arms traffickers. The police are confident that they will be able to further disrupt the illegal arms trade in Delhi and the surrounding areas.

The recent arrests of Manish Pandey and Inderjit Singh are a significant step in the fight against the illegal arms trade in Delhi. The seizures of illegal firearms and the arrests of arms traffickers send a strong message to criminals that the police will not tolerate the illegal trade of firearms.

The police's efforts are also important in light of the recent increase in gun violence in Delhi. In 2022, there were over 1,000 gun-related incidents in the city, resulting in the deaths of over 200 people. The police's crackdown on the illegal arms trade is a key part of the city's efforts to reduce gun violence.

The Delhi Police Special Cell is committed to keeping Delhi safe from the illegal arms trade. The police's recent arrests are a testament to their dedication to this goal.

In addition to the arrests of Manish Pandey and Inderjit Singh, the Delhi Police Special Cell has also taken a number of other steps to curb the illegal arms trade in the city. These steps include:

1) Conducting regular raids on arms manufacturing and smuggling operations.

2)Setting up a dedicated unit to investigate cases of illegal arms trafficking.

3) Working with other law enforcement agencies to share information and intelligence on the illegal arms trade.

4) Raising awareness among the public about the dangers of illegal arms trafficking.

The Delhi Police Special Cell's efforts to curb the illegal arms trade are a welcome development. The illegal arms trade is a serious threat to public safety, and the police's actions are helping to make Delhi a safer city.
