New Delhi: Delhi Police have dismantled an interstate cyber fraud syndicate and arrested four alleged members, including a Nigerian national, in a major crackdown on organised online financial crime. The operation was carried out by the Cyber Police team after an extensive investigation into multiple complaints of cyber fraud reported from different parts of the country.

According to police officials, the accused were allegedly involved in running a sophisticated network that targeted victims through fake investment schemes, online job offers, and digital communication platforms. Investigators said the syndicate used mule bank accounts, encrypted messaging applications and forged identities to receive and transfer money obtained from unsuspecting victims. The funds were reportedly routed through multiple accounts to make the transactions difficult to trace.

The investigation began after victims lodged complaints of being cheated of large sums through fraudulent online transactions. Technical surveillance, financial trail analysis and digital forensic examination helped investigators identify the suspects and trace their locations. Police teams conducted coordinated raids before arresting the four accused.

During the operation, police seized several mobile phones, laptops, SIM cards, ATM cards and documents believed to have been used in carrying out the cyber frauds. Officials are examining the electronic devices to identify additional victims and uncover possible links to other cybercrime networks operating in India and abroad.

Police said the Nigerian national is suspected of playing a key role in the syndicate's international connections. Authorities are also verifying his immigration and visa records while investigating whether the network had links with foreign-based cybercriminal groups. Further arrests are not being ruled out as the probe continues.

Delhi Police have urged citizens to remain cautious while responding to unsolicited investment opportunities, job offers or requests for personal banking information online. They advised people to verify the authenticity of websites, avoid sharing confidential financial details with unknown individuals and immediately report suspicious online activities through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal or the nearest cyber police station.

Officials said cyber fraud syndicates are increasingly using advanced technology and cross-border networks to target victims, making public awareness and timely reporting essential in preventing financial losses. The investigation is ongoing, and police expect further revelations as they analyse the digital evidence collected during the raids.
