Two separate firing incidents reported from different parts of Delhi have raised fresh concerns over public safety, with minors injured in both cases and police launching investigations to identify and apprehend those responsible.
In the first incident, unidentified men allegedly opened fire in South Delhi’s Lado Sarai area. According to reports, gunshots were heard in the locality, creating panic among residents. Witnesses claimed that several rounds were fired before the assailants fled the scene. Local residents also told police that a similar firing incident had reportedly taken place in the area about a week earlier, prompting concerns over recurring violence. In another incident reported from the New Usmanpur area of northeast Delhi, a 12-year-old boy sustained a gunshot injury after allegedly being caught in firing carried out by three men. Police said the incident occurred in front of the residence of a local caterer identified as Dharmender in the 4th Pushta area. During the firing, the child suffered an injury to his foot and was rushed to JPC Hospital for treatment. His condition is reported to be stable.
Delhi Police acted swiftly after the Usmanpur incident and apprehended two accused, identified as Prankur, 29, and Harsh, 22. Officials said a country-made firearm was recovered from their possession. Forensic teams inspected the scene and collected evidence, while police launched searches to trace other suspects believed to be involved in the case. An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of law at the New Usmanpur police station.
