Former Rajasthan minister Mahesh Joshi has been arrested in connection with a massive alleged scam linked to the Jal Jeevan Mission project, estimated to be worth around ₹960 crore, officials confirmed on Thursday.
According to investigation agencies, the case involves alleged irregularities in the implementation of rural drinking water supply projects under the government scheme. The allegations include manipulation of tenders, procedural violations, and financial misappropriation during the execution of contracts awarded for pipeline and infrastructure works.
Officials said Joshi was taken into custody after questioning by enforcement agencies, following months of investigation and scrutiny of financial records, contractor agreements, and administrative approvals.
