Four people were killed in a tragic road accident in Maharashtra’s Parbhani district after a motorcycle collided head-on with a private passenger bus on the Parbhani–Pathri Highway. The accident took place near the Andharwad Maruti Temple area close to Rahul Ginning during the early hours of Saturday.
According to police officials, the private bus was travelling from Parbhani towards Pune when it allegedly crashed into a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. The impact of the collision was extremely severe, completely damaging the motorcycle and killing all four riders on the spot.
Reports identified the victims as residents of Manwath town in Parbhani district. Local media said the deceased were Shubham Apparao Dahe, Vishnu Gore, Prahlad Ashokrao Kute, and Navnath Shamrao Jadhav. The force of the crash was so intense that one of the victims was reportedly difficult to identify initially.
Residents rushed to the scene immediately after hearing the loud collision. Tension escalated in the area as angry locals gathered near the accident site and allegedly vandalised the private bus involved in the crash. Police personnel quickly arrived and brought the situation under control to prevent further unrest.
With the help of local residents, police shifted the bodies to a nearby government hospital for post-mortem examinations. The damaged vehicles were later removed from the highway, and authorities worked to restore normal traffic movement on the busy route. The accident caused temporary traffic congestion before the road was cleared.
Officials have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the collision. Police are examining whether overspeeding, negligence, or other factors played a role in the accident. Statements from witnesses and the bus driver are also being recorded as part of the probe.
The incident has once again raised concerns about road safety on Maharashtra’s highways, where several serious accidents have been reported in recent weeks. Authorities have urged motorists to follow traffic regulations and drive cautiously to prevent similar tragedies.
