Himachal Pradesh. May 22 2025:In a major regulatory alert, 55 drug samples manufactured by Himachal Pradesh-based firms have been declared substandard by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO).
The samples include saline injections, eye drops, and various antibiotics and medications used for common ailments.
Eight batches of saline injections failed key sterility and endotoxin tests, raising concerns about manufacturing practices at the Baddi-based facility responsible.
Eye drops, anti-bacterial injections, and several oral medications also failed to meet quality standards.
State Drugs Controller Manish Kapoor had confirmed that all faulty batches will be withdrawn and investigations initiated against manufacturers with repeated violations. The CDSCO alert is part of a monthly surveillance effort to ensure public safety and product compliance.
