A candidate of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, K.K. Anand Mohan, on Thursday dismissed exit poll predictions and expressed strong confidence that actor-turned-politician Vijay will form the government with a clear majority.
Speaking to the media, Anand Mohan said that exit polls do not reflect the actual mood of the people and should not be taken seriously. “We do not care about exit polls. The ground reality is completely different. Vijay will form the government with more than 150 seats,” he asserted.
He claimed that there is a strong wave in favour of the party across Tamil Nadu, driven by public support for Vijay’s leadership and vision. According to him, voters especially the youth have responded positively to the party’s promises and outreach during the campaign.
The TVK candidate also said that traditional political parties have underestimated the growing influence of Vijay among the masses. He added that the party’s grassroots connect and aggressive campaigning would translate into a decisive mandate once votes are counted.
Exit polls released after the conclusion of voting in Tamil Nadu have predicted varied outcomes, with most suggesting a competitive contest among major parties. However, TVK leaders have rejected these projections, maintaining that the results will surprise many.
Political analysts note that while new entrants can generate significant buzz, converting popularity into electoral success remains a major challenge. The final verdict will be clear on counting day, when it will be known whether Vijay’s political debut has reshaped the state’s electoral landscape.
As the state awaits results, statements like these underline the confidence among party leaders, even as uncertainty continues over the actual outcome.
