Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday extended warm greetings and best wishes to the people on the occasion of India’s 80th Independence Day.
In his Independence Day message, Sinha called the occasion a moment of pride and reflection, urging people to remember the sacrifices of the leaders, freedom fighters and martyrs who contributed to India’s struggle for independence. He also called for renewed commitment to the values and ideals that have shaped the country since 1947.
“Heartiest greetings to all on the joyous occasion of Independence Day! Jai Hind!” Sinha said in a message shared with the public. He extended his wishes to people from all sections of society and prayed for their peace, prosperity and well-being.
The Lieutenant Governor also paid tribute to the armed forces, paramilitary forces, Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security agencies for their contribution towards protecting the country’s sovereignty and integrity. He remembered security personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.
In his broader Independence Day message, Sinha highlighted Jammu and Kashmir’s development journey and said the Union Territory was firmly moving towards rapid socio-economic growth. He emphasised the importance of peace, unity and collective participation in building a more prosperous future for the region.
Sinha also acknowledged the contribution of farmers, workers, youth and other sections of society to the region’s progress. He called upon people to join hands to strengthen peace and prosperity while maintaining the spirit of national unity.
The 80th Independence Day is being celebrated across Jammu and Kashmir and the rest of the country with flag-hoisting ceremonies, patriotic programmes and tributes to freedom fighters. Sinha’s message underlined the importance of remembering the country’s past while working together towards a peaceful, secure and developed future.
