LT GOVERNOR SINHA REVIEWS SHRI AMARNATH JI YATRA ARRANGEMENTS, LAUDS CONTRIBUTIONS OF SERVICE PROVIDERS

Lt Governor emphasizes on excellent service, coordination, and comfort for pilgrims during the Yatra.

GANDERBAL, JULY 23: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha visited the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra Base Camp at Baltal, where he interacted with the Pilgrims, Service Providers, and Officials, and reviewed the arrangements for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.


During his visit, the Lt Governor highlighted the significant contribution of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra to tourism, employment generation, and revenue. He also praised how this sacred journey has been uplifting the human spirit, strengthening cultural diversity, promoting communal harmony, and making Jammu and Kashmir emerge as a symbol of modernity and eternity.


“The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra is not just a pilgrimage; it is an experience that brings happiness to people’s lives and fulfils local aspirations,” said the Lt Governor.


In a review meeting with senior officers from various departments, including the SASB, Police, and Security Forces, Shri Manoj Sinha emphasized the importance of maintaining enthusiasm and providing excellent service to the pilgrims. he urged seamless coordination, effective communication, prompt response to concerns, and encouraged feedback from the pilgrims to ensure a successful Yatra.


The Lt ’overnor personally inspected the security arrangements, Heli operations, and facilities such as accommodation, food, connectivity, transportation, power and water supply, sanitation, health services, availability of fire tenders, and parking facilities. He also discussed the installation of fences and CCTV cameras along the Yatra route to enhance security.


During his visit, Shri Manoj Sinha interacted with delegations representing pony walas, shop owners, tent providers, Langar organizations, and NGOs. He expressed his appreciation for their dedication and invaluable contribution in enriching the spiritual tradition of the holy Yatra and bringing immense joy to the pilgrims. The Lt Governor invited suggestions from stakeholders to further improve the services provided to the devotees of Baba Amarnath Ji.


Additionally, the Lt Governor visited the eco-friendly, sustainable Langar set up by the Rural Development Department in collaboration with Swaaha Resource Management at the Baltal Base Camp. He also inaugurated a Langar installed by CRPF and distributed jute bags and vermi-compost bags to the pilgrims. The service providers received jackets sponsored by J&K Bank, further enhancing the amenities for the Yatra participants.
