A man allegedly connected to the Mumbai underworld and Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) has been arrested by Indian security agencies in a major counter-intelligence operation. The accused, identified as Mohammad Haroon (name as per investigating agencies), was taken into custody following a coordinated operation based on intelligence inputs regarding suspected espionage and anti-national activities.
According to investigators, the accused was allegedly in contact with operatives linked to Pakistan’s ISI and individuals associated with the Mumbai underworld. Security agencies claim he acted as an intermediary, facilitating the exchange of sensitive information and helping maintain communication channels between criminal networks and foreign handlers.
Officials said preliminary investigations revealed that the accused had been under surveillance for some time. Electronic devices, communication records and other materials seized during the operation are being examined to determine the extent of his alleged involvement.
