Mission Raftar: Passengers traveling between Delhi-Kolkata by train may reach their destination 2 to 3 hours earlier

The aim of reducing the time travel along the 1500 km route will be helmed under the Mission Raftar project. The same project is also on the move to reduce the time travel between Delhi to Mumbai route which is 1,483 km long

As per the officials, the Railway has decided to shriveled the time travel from Delhi to Kolkata by at least two and a half hours. The fleet will be achieved by speeding up trains to around 160 kmph.


The aim of reducing the time travel along the 1500 km route will be helmed under the Mission Raftar project. The same project is also on the move to reduce the time travel between Delhi to Mumbai route which is 1,483 km long.


At present, the fastest passenger train traveling between Delhi to West Bengal is Rajdhani Express. Traveling through it takes around 17 hours to complete the journey.  


Now, thanks to the ‘Raftar Mission’, Passengers traveling between Delhi to Kolkata will reach their destination 2 to 3 hours earlier as the trains have increased the speed by around 85 kmph.
