No other country practices terrorism like Pakistan: S Jaishankar

External Affair Minister S Jaishankar took a dig on Pakistan on Saturday and said that no other country practices tourism like India's western neighbour does.

He spoke on "Rising India and the World: Foreign Policy in Modi Era" in Gujarat's Vadodara and asserted that the world is not tolerating terrorism anymore.

He said that just like we are expert in Information Technology, our neighbour is expert in 'international terrorists'. It has been going on for years. We could explain to the world that terrorism is terrorism. Just like today it is being done against us, tomorrow it could be done against them, he said while addressing the event.

He added that no other country practices terrorism like Pakistan. He asked to show him anywhere in the world what Pakistan has done for multiple years against India. Following the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, it is important for India to be clear that this kind of behaviour is unacceptable and will have consequences.

The minister credited PM Modi led central government of India on making other nations realize that terrorism can be harmful to them too if not controlled now.

Jaishankar also said that we have been fairly successful in taking the world along with us in this fight against terrorism. Earlier, other nations ignored this issue considering it would not affect them because it was taking place someplace else. Today, we have been able to create pressure on the supporters of terrorism, which is an example of diplomacy.

He also recalled the fact that PM Modi had advised not to yield under pressure over purchasing oil from Russia. He also remembered how PM Modi asked the US President to not stop the vaccine supply chain for India during COVID-19 and as a result, the US administration had given India an exemption in the Defence Production Act. Our vaccination process went smoothly because of that.
