PM Modi pays tribute at War Memorial before Republic-Day celebrations

PM pays homage to the bravehearts at National War Memorial to mark Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi. PM was accompanied by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. PM Modi laid wreath at the National War Memorial as the nation remembered its heroes.

Leading the ceremony, PM Modi laid wreath at the National War Memorial.

After the wreath-laying, Commander Amit Rathi leading the Inter-Services guard comprising of 21 inner guards along with 06 buglers, gave command for Salami Shastra, then Shok Shastra.

The Last Post was played and officers in uniform saluted and everyone observed 2 minutes silence to pay homage to the departed soldiers.

Silence ended with the buglers playing the Rouse.

Guard Commander gave the command Salami Shastra.

PM Modi and other dignitaries will move to saluting dais.

As per tradition, National Flag will be unfurled and National Anthem will be played with 21 gun salute using 105-mm Light Field Guns, an indigenous weapon system.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is the Chief Guest.

Tableaux from 16 states and 10 ministries and departments of the Central government showcasing 'Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas' will participate in the parade this year.

Petals will be showered by Mi-17 1V helicopters of 129 Helicopter Unit in the Dhwaj Formation. 

Trooping the National Flag, this formation of helicopters will be led by Gp Capt Alok Ahlawat.

Indonesian Military Academy Marching contingent of 152 personnel and 190 personnel in the military band will also participate in the parade.

The ceremony will end with National Anthem and Balloons with official logo of 75 years of Constitution.
