Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has expressed strong confidence in the prospects of the BJP-AIADMK alliance in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, asserting that a clear “pro-NDA wave” is visible across the state.
Campaigning in Tamil Nadu as part of an intensified outreach by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Naidu described the alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) as a “very good combination” capable of delivering development and stable governance. He emphasised that voters are increasingly leaning toward the NDA, adding that only a “double-engine government” — with the same alliance at both state and Centre — can ensure faster progress.
Naidu’s remarks come during his two-day campaign tour across key regions such as Coimbatore and Hosur, where he addressed public meetings and participated in rallies to mobilise support for NDA candidates. His visit is aimed at energising party workers, strengthening voter outreach, and reinforcing the alliance’s development-focused narrative at a crucial stage of the election campaign.
The BJP-AIADMK alliance, which reunited in 2025 after contesting separately in earlier elections, has emerged as the principal challenger to the ruling DMK-led front in Tamil Nadu. The coalition has also finalised seat-sharing arrangements, with multiple regional parties joining the bloc to consolidate anti-incumbency votes.
Naidu, a key NDA ally, has been actively involved in campaigning beyond his home state, signalling the alliance’s broader strategy of deploying prominent leaders to influence voters in crucial battleground states. During his speeches, he also reached out to specific communities, including Telugu-speaking voters in Tamil Nadu, highlighting the NDA’s targeted approach to coalition politics.
His optimistic assessment, however, comes amid a highly competitive political environment. Leaders from opposition parties, particularly those aligned with the DMK, have dismissed the NDA’s claims and expressed confidence in retaining power, setting the stage for a closely fought election.
As campaigning intensifies, Naidu’s assertion of a “pro-NDA wave” underscores the alliance’s attempt to shift the political narrative in a state where regional parties have historically dominated. Whether this confidence translates into electoral gains will become clear when Tamil Nadu heads to the polls in the coming weeks.
