PUNJAB POLICE ARREST FIVE BAMBIHA GANG MEMBERS

Punjab Police Cracks Down on Bambiha Gang, Arrests Five Members

The Punjab Police arrested five members of the Bambiha gang on August 17, 2023, in Bathinda. The accused have been identified as Gurpreet Singh, alias Gopi, Gurjant Singh, alias Fauji, Jagdeep Singh, alias Gandhi, Parminder Singh, alias Pamma, and Sukhdev Singh, alias Sukha.


The police said that the accused were involved in several criminal activities, including extortion, kidnapping, and murder. They were also wanted in connection with the snatching of a police SLR in the past.The arrests were made by a team of the Bathinda police, led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gulneet Singh. The police said that the accused were nabbed after a brief chase.


The police have recovered a .30 bore pistol, a .32 bore pistol, and a .12 bore gun from the accused. They have also recovered several live cartridges.The police have registered a case against the accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act. They are being further questioned.


The Bambiha gang is a notorious criminal gang in Punjab. It is named after Sukhmeet Singh Bambiha, a gangster who was killed in a police encounter in 2016. The gang is involved in a number of criminal activities, including drug trafficking, extortion, and murder.
