The Quad Leaders' Summit, including leaders from the US, India, Japan and Australia has undertaken to initiate several developmental programmes in the Indo-Pacific region.

This year, it is the fourth edition of the summit since its inception in the US in 2021.

PM Modi attended the summit at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. The PM is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with US President Joe Biden and the Japan Prime minister after the conclusion of the summit.

“The increased coordination between members of the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, or Quad, is ensuring peace, prosperity, and stability in the Indo-Pacific, and the grouping has a constructive agenda that strengthens its image as a force for good,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"The Quad summit provides an opportunity for the leaders to exchange views about developments in the Indo-Pacific region and contemporary global issues of mutual interest," External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said.
