Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has released a special documentary marking the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, highlighting India’s military response, planning and execution of the cross-border strike carried out last year.
The documentary was unveiled during a defence-related programme in Jaipur, where senior military officials and top government representatives were also present. The film presents detailed visuals and narratives of the operation, showcasing how Indian armed forces conducted coordinated strikes on terror-linked infrastructure in response to the April 2025 Pahalgam terror attack.
According to officials, the documentary focuses on the multi-domain nature of the operation, including the use of intelligence inputs, cyber coordination and advanced surveillance systems before the strikes were executed. It also highlights the role of the Indian Air Force and other defence units in carrying out precision attacks while minimising collateral damage.
Speaking at the event, Rajnath Singh praised the armed forces for their courage, discipline and strategic planning. He said Operation Sindoor reflected India’s changing defence posture, where swift and decisive action is taken against threats to national security. He also emphasised that the operation sent a strong message against terrorism and cross-border militancy.
The documentary also revisits the broader geopolitical context of the operation, including tensions along the India-Pakistan border in May 2025, when both sides exchanged strikes before a ceasefire was later reached. Military officials featured in the film described the operation as one of India’s most coordinated modern defence actions, involving multiple branches of the armed forces working in sync.
The release comes amid a series of commemorative events being organised across the country to mark the anniversary of Operation Sindoor. The government has also highlighted the operation as an example of India’s growing indigenous defence capabilities and its focus on self-reliance in military technology.
Security experts say the documentary is also aimed at strengthening public awareness of India’s counter-terrorism strategy and showcasing operational transparency in military achievements. It is expected to be screened at various defence institutions and public forums in the coming weeks.
