Ahead of Eid al-Adha celebrations, authorities in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal district have intensified security measures to ensure the festival is observed peacefully. Police and administrative officials have conducted flag marches across sensitive areas, while issuing strict guidelines regarding animal sacrifices, public gatherings, and social media activity.

According to officials, extensive security arrangements have been put in place across the district, with police personnel deployed at key locations, including mosques, Eidgahs, marketplaces, and communally sensitive zones. The flag marches were carried out to reassure residents and maintain public confidence ahead of the festival. Senior police officers participated in the exercise, urging citizens to cooperate with authorities and celebrate the occasion in a peaceful manner.

As part of the precautionary measures, the district administration has prohibited animal sacrifices in public places and along roadsides. Officials have directed that sacrifices must be carried out only at designated locations and within private premises, in accordance with government guidelines. Authorities warned that any violation of these instructions would invite legal action.

Police have also instructed residents not to display sacrificial remains in public areas and to ensure proper disposal of waste to maintain cleanliness and public hygiene. Municipal teams have been placed on alert to assist with sanitation and waste management during the festival period.

To prevent the spread of misinformation and rumours, officials have increased monitoring of social media platforms. Residents have been advised not to share objectionable, inflammatory, or misleading content that could disturb communal harmony. Cyber monitoring teams have been tasked with keeping watch on online activity, and strict action has been warned against individuals found circulating provocative messages.

District officials stated that peace committee meetings were held with religious leaders and community representatives in the run-up to the festival. During these meetings, community members were requested to adhere to official guidelines and help maintain an atmosphere of mutual respect and harmony.

Authorities have also installed additional surveillance measures, including CCTV monitoring at strategic points, while quick response teams have been kept on standby to address any emergency situation. Traffic management plans have been prepared to regulate movement around major prayer venues during Eid prayers.

Eid al-Adha, one of the most important festivals in Islam, commemorates the spirit of sacrifice, faith, and charity. As preparations continue across Sambhal, district authorities have reiterated their commitment to ensuring that the celebrations take place smoothly, peacefully, and in accordance with the law, while preserving communal harmony and public order.
